Our lingerie is sized either by bra or dress size.
Our panties contain powermesh and are stretchy so the waist measurement isn't quite as critical as it is on shapwear. If you're in between sizes go for the size which matches your hip measurement.
Our Maitresse and Lulu garter belts also contain large powermesh sections which makes them stretchy - again go for the hip measurement if you're between sizes.
With all other garter belts it's best go for the waist size if you're between sizes as the belt will sit on your waist. If you're not sure how a garter belt should fit, take a look at the movie on the stocking sizing page.

To find the correct item of shapewear for you please refer to our Glamour Shapewear guide Shapewear is designed to smooth and shape the torso, concentrating on the waist and hips. It's important to get these measurements correct when determining your dress size.

To determine your waist size measure the narrowest part of your torso firmly. Your natural waist might be a lot higher than you imagine and should be several inches smaller than your jean size.
Measure your hips at the widest point.

If you are measuring for an item that finishes on the waist then ensure you order the size closest to your waist measurement. Our girdles are cut with a 10" difference between waist and hip so if you've got a waist measurement of 30" and a hip size of 35" don't choose something that finishes on your waist as if you get it tight enough to shape the hips you will end up with a muffin top.
For shapewear, if in between sizes, I always choose the next size down.
|
For waist cinchers and waspies I always think the tighter the better! Measure your waist firmly (after all, the garment will be worn tightly) and choose the size that is nearest to your waist measurement. Girls often choose a size smaller in a cincher or waspie and whilst this gives a more dramatic silhouette it might begin to pinch towards the end of the evening.
Shapewear in bra sizes
Our Merry Widow and Corselette are sized using bra sizes. As both garments cover the body, the body size also needs to be taken into account. The band sizes of these garments roughly fit:
Band size 32 = dress size 6, 34 = dress size 8, 36 = dress size 10 and 38 = dress size 12 (of course, these are What Katie Did dress sizes which might be a size smaller than what you're used to, see our fitting room page for the measurements of our dress sizes)
If you wear, for example, a 32D bra but are a dress size 10 you will need to adjust your corslette/Merry Widow size so it fits correctly on the body by selecting a 36B (if you go up a band size you need to go down a cup size: see our bra sizing page for more info)

|
Always step into a girdle or corselette, we wouldn't want you to suffocate, or more importantly, mess up your hair. If the girdle is very tight it sometimes helps to cross your legs. Grip the garment with the pads of the fingers, not the nails, and pull up.
A girdle, corselette or waist cincher should feel, tight yet comfortable, even at the end of the day.
