Hello we’re Michelle and Carrie and we run the LA store. We’re going to introduce ourselves to you more thoroughly soon but we just had to let you know about an event we’re planning for this Saturday.
We’re so excited to join the world famous hat makers, Goorin, for their ladies night this Saturday from 3-7pm.
What Katie Did will be exhibiting a small trunk of Nylons and Garter Belts at Goorin Brothers’ Ladies night in the Melrose store. We’ll also be giving discounts on the featured products as well as a discount for our store just a few blocks away!
The event will be focusing on Goorin’s Peekaboo collection which will look absolutely fabulous with What Katie Did Lingerie! Goorin tell us that:
‘The Peekaboo collection is one that idolizes sensual women, as well as gives the custumor a chance to idolize himself or herself with one of a kind designer wears. The Peekaboo Collection was originally inspired by a 1940s tie that had hidden pin up imagery painted on the inside of the lining. Given the success of the Peekaboo 2011 Collection, Amandalynn reached out to Goorin’s custom hat designer Christa Baker to collaborate on this year’s Peekaboo Collection. Amanalynn chose two very talented models, Jesse Lee and Justine, for her inspiration, and Christa brought together a team of hair and makeup stylists to complete the ultimate Peekaboo look for the photo shoot. These photos were used to inspire and create 4 original pieces of artwork. The painted images were then used in the linings of the hats and ties. Christa Baker developed some of the head pieces inspired by the photos. This is a very artistically refined and collaborative project; the attention to detail and unique imagery is evident in each piece.
Amandalynn hand-painted to limited run of linings for a hat, tie and Peekabook hat box for this special collection. Hat and hat box are crafted and assembled in America.’
