Named after one of the sauciest areas of Paris, the Pigalle range features our Morticia steel boned underbust corset, transformed with rich red satin and an intricate black lace overlay.

Morticia is one of our most popular underbust styles, featuring gored hips and a long busk to ensure a dramatic shape. Its cut means it's ideal for vintage figures – those with a ten inch or greater difference between hips and waist – and the design means that the waist can be highly cinched with minimal pressure on the hips or ribs. Corset devotees often find they take a smaller size than usual in the this style, but first-time wearers are usually surprised with the large reduction they can achieve.

The Pigalle Morticia is glamorous enough to be worn on a night out or by an alternative bride on her big day, and is a popular choice with showgirls and burlesque performers across the world.

What Katie Did corsets are made up of several layers: base fabric: 100% cotton twill, 100% cotton lining fabric, an internal waist stay and the face (or fashion) fabric. A combination of spiral and flat steel boning is used. Two piece grommets and washers are used at the back, placed between boning, whilst all of our corsets feature a steel busk at the front.

These corsets are designed to work hard and reduce your waist by up to 5 inches. Please deduct 4 to 5 inches from your normal waist measurement to work out your corset size: a natural waist of 29 inches will give a corset size of 24 inches, whilst a natural waist size of 30 inches will give a corset size of 26 inches.

Several experienced corset wearers have purchased a size smaller than they normally do. Most suited to vintage figures with a waist 10 inches (or more) smaller than the hip.
